USER MANUAL

v 2.1.0

British Bundle

Welcome

The v2 is not compatible with sessions saved with the v1, but both versions can be installed and used simultaneously.

Presets saved from the v1 can be used in the v2.

British MCL-2269

Introduction

The British MLC-2269 is a simple and elegant Master Compressor Limiter (MCL). The British MCL-2269 is the perfect choice for a truly "British-style" vintage sounding.

The compressor section in the v2 might sound different from the v1 due to internal fixes.

Controls

Control image

Input Gain

Sets the overall input level of the MCL-2269 in dB.

This control is useful to adjust the input level gain before applying compression to the signal.

Vintage

With the switch in the 'On' position, the MCL-2269 recreates the harmonic distortion and noise level of the original modeled hardware processor.

VU Meter

Displays the output signal level, in dBFS.

Clipper

With the switch in the 'On' position, soft clipping is applied on the output signal to round off peaks above 0 dB.

Output Gain

Sets the overall output level of the MCL-2269 in dB.

This control is useful to adjust the output level gain after its been reduced from applying compression to the signal.

Limiter On/Off

With the switch in the 'On' position, the limiter section is activated.

Limiter Level

Sets the threshold level of the limiter section above which the device begins to limit the signal.

The amount of reduced level is shown on the limiter gain reduction meter.

Limiter Attack

The time (in ms) it takes for the limiter to reach its maximum level on the sound.

  • Fast: 0.1 ms

  • Slow: 1 ms

Limiter Recovery

Controls how long (ms) it takes to release a signal from the limiter once it's dipped below your specified threshold.

A long release time can be useful for adding sustain to a signal.

  • Auto: depending on the input signal, 170 ms to 3000 ms

Limiter Gain Reduction

Displays the amount of gain reduction applied by the limiter, in dB.

Compressor On/Off

With the switch in the 'On' position, the compressor section is activated.

Compressor Threshold

Sets the threshold (in dB) to the level at which the compressor begins to work.

If you set it to -10 dB for instance, any signal exceeding the threshold level (-10 dB) are reduced in level, and the amount of compression is shown on the compressor gain reduction meter.

Compressor Ratio

This sets the amount of compression ratio, in dB, applied to a signal once it violates your pre-set threshold.

A ratio of 4:1 will output 1 dB for every 4 dB of input signal that exceeds your targeted threshold.

Compressor Recovery

Controls how long (in ms) it takes to release a signal from the compressor once it's dipped below your specified threshold.

  • Auto: depending on the input signal, 800 ms to 2500 ms.

Compressor Gain Reduction

Displays the amount of gain reduction applied by the compressor, in dB.

Compressor Gain

Sets the overall output level of the compressor section in dB.

This control is useful to adjust the output compressor gain after its been reduced from applying the compression to the signal.

If the limiter is activated ('On' position), the Comp Gain will be applied before the limiter section.

British NEQ-1972

Introduction

The British NEQ-1972 is a simple and elegant "British-style" four-band equalizer with low-pass and high-pass filters.

The NEQ-1972 provides ±18 dB of gain and switchable High-Q settings.

Controls

Control image

High-Pass

This control determines the frequency of the high-pass filter.

5 frequencies are available: 27, 47, 82, 150, 2270 Hz. When 'Off' is selected, the high-pass filter is bypassed.

Phase

Inverts the phase of the equalizer.

Band Freq (Bands 1 to 4)

Selects the cut-off frequency for the according EQ band.

When 'Off' is selected, the EQ band is bypassed.

Band Gain (Bands 1 to 4)

Controls the gain (in dB) for the according EQ band, from -18 to +18 dB.

Band Type (Bands 1 & 4)

This switch determines the type of filter equalization (shelving or peaking).

Band Q (Bands 2 & 3)

This controls the width of the filter curve from normal 'Broad' to HiQ 'Sharp'.

Low-Pass

This control determines the frequency of the low-pass filter.

5 frequencies are available: 3.9, 5.6, 8.7, 12, 18 kHz. When 'Off' is selected, the low-pass filter is bypassed.

Vintage

With the switch in the 'On' position, the NEQ-1972 recreates the harmonic distortion and noise level of the original modeled hardware processor.

Output Meter

Displays the output signal level, in dBFS.

Output Gain

Sets the overall output level of the effect in dB.

This control is useful to adjust the output level gain after its been reduced or boosted from applying equalization to the signal.

Right click on a workspace to copy or swap between workspaces.

Oversampling

Not available on all plug-ins.

Oversample the plug-in by the choosen factor. When set to "1x", no oversampling is applied.

The oversampling algorithm is not linear phase and only adds a few samples of latency.

BPM

Only available in standalone.

Sets the BPM to synchronize with when using BPM-synced parameters (LFO rates, delay times, etc).

Power switch

Click to power the plug-in on or off.

The bypass has the following characteristics:

  • Soft bypass: The plug-in is still processing when powered off but will just return the input audio

  • Smooth bypass: Powering on and off doesn't produce clicks and can be safely automated

  • Latency compensated: The output has the same latency wheither it's bypassed or not.

Preset manager

The preset manager can be open from the center top of the plug-in. It gives you access to the plug-in's factory presets and your own saved presets.

Preset Manager

Save As

Not available in demo mode.

Save the current plug-in state as new a preset file.

The preset must be saved in user data's "Presets" subdirectory to be recognized by the plug-in.
